Live visuals created in collaboration with l'Artiste Ordinaire. Music composed by l'Artiste Ordinaire.
This performance was a special edition for Ab Uno Pluribus “from one to many” — a monthly audio-visual event in Manhattan (since 2014). Two other acts performed, followed by a group improvisation concluding the evening. The visual mixed video clips into a new landscape with shifting clouds and gradual color and time effects were happening through out the piece. Additionally these piece made use of projection mapping to trigger audio-reactive elements on top of the musicians.
Biophonic Beats is a simulacrum of the interlocking sonic umwelten created by different species of vocalizing non-human animals. In any given environment, the sounds created by an individual species will shift and adapt to changes in the soundscape. The shifting, adaptive texture of Biophonic Beats is derived from the manufactured human rituals of communal dance; re-imagining anthropophony as biophony. -l'Artiste Ordinaire
